About the Seminar:

The issue of tithing is one of the most controversial and debated subjects in the Body of Christ today. This is especially true in most evangelical, Pentecostal and charismatic churches. On one end of the spectrum, without providing relevant and convincing Scriptural reasons, some pastors and church leaders contend that church members should pay tithes simply because the Bible requires it. Those who believe and support this view insist that members who refuse or fail to pay tithes over a period of several months or years should not be allowed to participate or get involved in any form of ministry in the local church. In this case, tithing serves as a pre-requisite for ministry participation.

On the other end of the spectrum, some pastors and churches teach that tithing is not required for New Testament believers since it was commanded or prescribed only under the Old Testament Law, and which no doubt ended with the coming and death of Jesus Christ.
